Celebrating 100 years of Goldy

Goldy! Guess a name that makes me smile, fills my heart with fond memories and hope I don't have to feel the terrible pain of parting with her soon..

Recently we celebrated Goldy turning 100 dog years = 14 2/7 human years as 1 human year = 7 dog years! Anyway we just needed a reason to celebrate Goldy and call all her fans to come/ receive love.. We started as small gathering that quickly turned out to 25 people pouring their love as you can see below,

Goldy for her part, got up to greet and wave her tail as much as she was able to! Age is quickly catching up on my kid, but does NOT take away the fact - she was the first grand kid of the Moorkanikkaras.

It is interesting to note that I got Goldy from the small town - College Station in Texas to help me not miss my family. Goldy not only became my constant companion, a full-day obsession (Used to watch through online cameras from work!), but also a loving member of our family. My parents would not flinch when we used to refer to her as our seemantha puthri (Which means first born daughter!)

Skanda and Shakti followed Goldy in making our family complete! While we watch Goldy's health deteriorate we are thankful for the wonderful memories we created with her - right from our first stop in IHOP from College Station, to trekking and resort activities (including swimming though I was reluctant to let my gal swim in the pet pool).

Goldy has taught us all - unconditional love, sweetest nature, playful at all times but most important fiercely loyal. We will remember all her active times with fondness, though I still remember hear breaking glass and running amok in our backyard at her naughtiest, with great love ❤
