I really liked this Bollywood movie - "Dil Dhadakne Do" clearly Priyanka and Ranveer carried it well on their shoulders.. I will be honest, I had to look up the movie name but my point is I really liked the movie for the story, characterization, song, dance and the entire 11 yards!
Now why am I talking about (an old) movie? Yeah I did like it and found some scenes like that "butter knife" comedy by Ranveer and some intense scenes by Priyanka very inspiring. I just happen to like Priyanka so you will see me mentioning her more than others like Anushka.
Anyway coming back to the topic of our conversation, this movie and my memory of it made me wonder why I seem to remember this one scene more than others!
I just can NOT seem to get this one scene out of my head, where Shefali eats some dessert (like cup cake!) due to anxiety or whatever is the right term. I found that scene extremely depressing! A simple drama of a rake husband making the wife feel bad that she resorts to eating to manage her emotions.
This was not a new concept, or something I have not heard of... but something about that disturbing scene removed the rest of the good memories from that film. In fact, every time I get to watch Priyanka and Ranveer bonding as siblings or even Rahuls silly fighting - I am like wow that was a good movie...
Is this the same for everyone? Do we intend to retain more intense memories, that invoke strong emotions esp. sadness or anger? Is this why Bollywood typically tends to show more violence, grief? I still love comedy movies the best but my experience with this particular one ... got me thinking! Welcome thoughts..
